On paypal i have 2 accounts, the first "TinsoldierSoftware" was created first maybe 13 years ago, the second personal account maybe 12 years ago.
Both accounts are connected to the same bank account.
I use my personal account often, i used it for the recent upgrade parts i bought last month, all's well there.
The other TinsoldierSoftware account, that is setup as a business account, rarely gets used, but i think it was used maybe 7 months ago for a ebay purchase.
I logged into this paypal account, only to see a popup telling me " suspicious " activity has been detected and i need to prove this account is mine by uploading a picture of ( a driver license or a credit card or a medical card) WTF...
So here's a secret ( if you ever need to call paypal support , just wait till you get the main menu selections from the computer voice, then loudly and clearly say AGENT, you may need to repeat it, but you should hear the computer voice immediately say, ok one moment, or i think you said AGENT, please hold. You'll be transferred to waiting and an actual LIVE AGENT to deal with.)
So anyway, my business paypal doesn't have my real name on the account, and i also didnt put a valid phone number on he account, you see i'm some what paranoid about putting real valid info on the internet, and it's like every damn day we hear about this website or that one being hacked and personal info being stolen, so i'm glad i've kept most of my real info off the webz.
So the paypal security guy tells me, i have to prove who i am with some legal form od ID, and it has to match the paypal account info or it will be rejected.
So, i cant prove the paypal account info and paypal wont unlock the account until i do, and wont change or even delete the account....
LOST ACCOUNT
To avoid this issue, if you don't use you're real name on the paypal account, YOU HAVE TO AT LEAST PUT A REAL VALIDATED PHONE NUMBER on it, so if needed, you can access your account.
PS paypal will text you a confirmation number to your phone to validate that number.
If you have any accounts with non-real usernames on the account, update it now with a valid number before it gets locked, because PayPal requires valid usernames and ID on accounts, but if your phone number is valid before they lock it, you should be able to recover it without problems.
