Hello game devs.! I'm working on my first race project. I'm looking for the best pcar setting for the cars as it would be easier for the opponent racers to work on irregular tracks which I've made... Thank you all.!

i must agree with yumish, messing around with those settings is half the fun of making the game

@gamedeveloper0 yeah it's quite fun and we learn a lot

yeah, I agree with you people.. I've improved a lot since yesterday and the AI car is no more going off the track.! Experiment is the best way.!

Well, i want to ask one thing.. is there anyway to prevent my game from crashing while loading... sometimes it crashes while loading.. its happening after the completion of the map and cars.. i think that ram is the problem (4gb).. maybe its ram leak problem... is there any way to stop that?

i'm also running on 4 gb ram bro. I guess your map is too big or may be your GPU is outdated like mine .

Almost guaranteed it's one of your models has maybe to many polys..
If you're using sketchup models, thats the first thing to look at before even using a model, and the number of textures it has..
I once saw a simple gokart model in the warehouse that had 27 textures, was 3.5M in size, had 65K polys... thats just ridiculous for a simple model like that..
When using 3drad you have to watch the poly count and texture usage and keep everything on the minimum side of things.
3drad is not a COD engine or any other professional similar engine.
That said, 3drad can do some decent things, but it slows down if you push it to much and networking can be laggy too.
you're getting what you paid for, plus a little bit.

I got it TinSoldier.! I have used high poly things in the map which are causing trouble to the load (mainly when I don't minimize 3D RAD while loading or when few other programs are open). Well, I would like to know that if I upgrade my ram or increase the virtual ram, will the loading trouble be solved or minimized?

I think that the problem will be minimized...

This will help, but the GPU and CPU are very important, too.

didn't you say you have 4G of ram now ?.
I forget exactly, but i think 3drad minimum ram was only 1G or less..
Any windows program will likely work better with more ram for windows..
Buut, just because it works well on your system, it may not work well on others who may only be using 1G or 2G of ram..
You have to consider the end user of your project, and what their computers minimum required spec's will be.

Nonsense! When I used 3DRad, I would have 256MB of RAM and I could make a game with rigid bodies, particles and 10 AIs and it would work fine.

Duh , he said less than 1 GB ...

Oh, sorry, TinSoldier ! I mistook "1 gb or less" for "1gb or more"...

Well, there's no need to increase ram.. Decreasing the resolution and turning v-sync off solves the problem..! But I have to have to face the loading problem because I can't lower my settings during development.. So the problem is only for me.. Not for the players..

Well... If you run on NVIDIA, Pcar is totally for you. It probably helps you to make a good drift car. But I find it is difficult for AI to control normal Pcars.

I don't think so. I'm on intel and i can't notice any difference

You know, my Pcar is best for me to handle, but really it is difficult for AI to control it.
