OK, this is an image of a fire I made... pretty cool, actually... but, why don't I want to make the fire like this? Well, it took me AN HOUR AND A HALF to render the """big""" SINGLE IMAGE. So, guys, I desperately need your help: is there a quicker way to make fire in 3d?

Firstly, oyu don't know what is called LONG render. I spent 32 hours of rendering a single shot with a lot of hair particles (cause).
And second, check raptor5120's newest animation LegoWarInThePacific 4 part 1. It's so cool and the explosions have FIRE.

Yeah, it's nice, but I really need to find a bit less PC destroying way. Yeah, you rendered for 32 hours, but with MILLIONS of particles, What is on the scene of my image is:2 planes, one cube, and I just need to make fire without smoke sim, at least until I buy a faster computer.

Game developers use the 2D particle technique... Much less processing dependant than the blender fire simulation...

WOW! You mean: you have a png fire image, you make it be a particle system and you've got a fire? That's very, very nice way to do it. just one question: Does the texture need to be circle, or rectangular? Rectngular Circle the images are not .png, but let's imagine they are...

You obviously know the answer... How on earth you will make a good fire out of rectangle... Do you want rectangular flames? Would look pretty wierd and not the kind of thing you want to get...
You have to go with the second one... Add an additive shader to it and make a particle system... Unity does it well, but I don't know how this whole thing is made in Blender...

It can be achieved with emmiter particles but I haven't studied them quite well.
