I've been using 3d rad for around a year now. I think I'm decent enough at it, tough I have no clue how to script , but thats not the problem. I'm making a racing game, but the AI that I'm trying to make keeps swerving around. I have the nodes set down, but the AI just swerves between the nodes... Can someone please help because I have no Idea what I've done wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You. Evan Mulcahy Attachments:lololololol7.3dr (382.3 KB)

Welcome to our community! Did you record a path which you want the AIs to follow?

Did you disabled the controls of the other cars like throttle and steering?

Hi epic.... welcome to the forum. I had a look at your project and the path is a bit of a mess there is a node that is way off not sure what going on there. In the Path object panel there is Visualization increase the Thickness so you get a better look your path. You may still have to play with the AI values but the default values are generally ok to start with. Recording the path with the car can be very hard to get a path that works well. I gave up that method years ago. The best method is a path editor I have included a link below. First just run it as is and have a play with it to see how it works follow the on screen instruction. The mypath.txt file is saved in 3DRAD root folder. In the header of the script are the instruction on what you have to do to use your own custom terrain. The original project was developed by shadmar from the 3DRAD forum I added the camera movement. _patheditor_CamChase.3drn_iron

Thank's for your help , the nodes may have looked like a mess becauae I didn't include the tracks skinmesh in the project I attached... My bad . The track is fioranno Raceway. Hopefully the nodes resembled that. And yeah, I'm finding noding a path with a car tricky too, thankfully it's the only thing I've stumbled on so far in my game.. Going to be posting a early Alfa soon to see if anyone has any suggestions to improve the game. Thanks again. Evan Mulcahy

Thanks for the support, that would be a great help! I'm having 4 terrains/areas in the game. The standard terrain, an airport, a docs section and the Fiorano Test Track. I'll add more terrains through the game as it progresses. Any help would be greatly appreciated, just reply with things you can do.
Thanks
Evan Mulcahy

first I need several factors. I do models with high polygon
specifications of your PC.
size map
so many looking effects, eg. reflections in windows reflection effects of road environment as dust
trust in me
Patience..... is not easy to make a complete map
ha...!!! and it captures the cars you use -Joz

Not sure of the specs of the PC as I'm borowing my friends PC for the game, but it has a AMD R290 graphics card. Size of map no bigger than 3km long and 3km wide (In 3D RAD) All of those looking effects would be nice I trust you man! Believe me, I'm patient... I'ts taken me ages to get the physics nailed down and I'm still trying to improve it. I'll post a some pictures of the game so far. Thanks again for your help... Evan Mulcahy
