recently, i suggested nic try making a sound fx 'custom object' for 3drad, but such a thing already exists called sox: sox.sourceforge.net/ and once again, the mighty DOS commands come to the rescue! you can do such things as: -add realtime reverb or echo when in tunnels, etc [though personally, i'd rather bake the reverb into the wav, which sox can also do in automated batches rather than 1 at a time by using audacity, etc] -allow custom user mp3 soundtracks [instead of rad's ogg/wav] but like all CMD mp3 players i found, they can't receive new cmds once started, so exiting a level would need cmd: taskkill /f /im sox.exe to stop playback. ------------ note: latest v14.4.2 does not seem to work for most people, so use v14.4.1 instead. .bat file e.g: sox sound.wav -d reverb

in retrospect, while the above works [if you install a decoder for the mp3 use] sox is under the GPL license, so unless you plan on releasing your game free and also under GPL, it may not be usable. patents for mp3 expired in 2017, but i'm yet to find a CMD mp3 player that's legit or not under GPL.
but just using sox to bake effects into wavs is ok, since you will not redistribute sox in that case.
