Hey guys!!! Here again, with a new discussion: How were you introduced to 3D Rad? Wanna know my story? My story: We were in our IT class learnin' something that I can't quite remember, when I wasn't even listening to the class and talkin' with my friend about games... He mentioned that there are softwares that can develop games... What? Softwares? That night, I surfed the internet for some softwares to create games.... I came across some of those softwares like Game Maker, Unity, etc... But nothing matched my criteria: small, free, supporting Win XP... That's were I found 3D Rad on Softonic!!!! BTW, only then, I knew that those softwares are called "Game Engines" How did you find it?

i can't remember, it was like 10 years ago, only in the last year have i taken it seriously after playing with it on and off, but it's something i wanted to do even back to the PSone black dev edition era, but only now do i truly get the skills needed after much research and practice.

I met Power Supersport like 8 years ago in the net, and we became really good e-friends. So, at first we used to make games in MyGameBuilder(2D), a dead site that I don't know if it still exists. I alway wanted to do what he did.(Dang I had no life) And then, 4 years ago, he introduced me to 3DRad: the majestic engine that makes games in 3D... I HAD TO try this. But my PC was a piece of junk, and it couldn't handle more than a few hundred polygons. And after a while, I realised it was not my element in making games... I wanted to make movies. At first I used VIDEO EDITING software called ffDiaporama.(you definitely know that these things were a piece of crap) And then, two years later, I found Blender. And now I've been using it for 2 years, and I'm getting better and better. So, it's Power Supersport 's fault that I found the world of 3d... thanks, Power!

I was using MGB for maybe arround 3 - 4 months... I got bored...
Then I typed in 3D Game maker and guess what appeared - 3D Rad (in second place)... I downloaded the engine and I got started with some vids... I quickly popped with a lot of car ideas... That's when my 3D Rad skills started to grow... I can really tell that 3D Rad has been my favourite engine for good 2 years... I am happy that I was able to learn so much from it...

I was a B.A.S.I.C programmer, and learned using a radioshack Color Computer 2 with 64K of memory and microsoft basic v1.0. Wrote a couple games while learning (you know those slide number games and a TicTacToe with AI learning ) started writing one of those, but never finished it on the CoCo, i did convert it to PC basic and have even started a 3drad version of that original project ( still not completed ) based on the original code. Bought myself a CoCo3 with 64K and dual external 5.25" floppy drives, then upgraded to 512K and dabbled with assembly language, found that to be way too low level and boring to use, ( PS if you didn't know, all computer programs are compiled to assembly language at the lowest level, because this is the only language the computer actually understands and is the "10110110" that directly control all the millions or 10's of millions transistors that modern CPU's have in them ( a transistor is an electronic switch and a "1" or a "0" equals an On or Off control state respectively ). Then i bought myself a Tandy1000 which was a PC based radioshack computer, and used DOS and had a 3.5" floppy drive builtin. Then got myself a copy of windows v3.1 on 3.5" floppy disks ( which i still have ). Upgraded to DOS v5.0 within 1 week of it's release. bought myself Microsoft QuickBasic v4.5 , mainly because it was the first QB version to include a compiler allowing us to compile to a PC executable program. Started to play with on-line dialup modems and the Genie service. ( this was one of 2 or 3 dialup services that existed before the internet became available ). Started a BBS, expanded that to a 4 telephone line service using 4 desktop PC based computers running 640K of ram each and QEMM memory manager, both 5.25" and 3.5" drives, all having 386DX40MHZ CPU's.. Started getting an interest to develop games again, but with the PC, so having experience with BASIC i bought Microsoft visual basic v1.0 for DOS ( bought this version because it allowed compiling to either a DOS or windows based executable, where the VB v1.0 for windows only supported windows executables. Started looking for a better quicker easier process to create games with, searched for a development program like VB and also supported BASIC scripting language. Found 3drad v4.1, saw that it didn't have networking support, but networking was in development, so i decided not to buy it till networking was released. I bought 3drad when networking was an add-on, a few months after finding it. In the mean time i found Virtual Reality Studio by DoMark ( originally designed by Dimension International and sold to DoMark), it was cool, and was a 3D interactive environment, very much like 3drad is, but had a few limitations and bugs and was upgraded a number of times but not released to the public because DoMark went on to developed their own game titles in house with the newer versions. By this time 3drads networking add-on was released, so i moved to 3drad... The rest is history as they say... Sorry for the long post, and went back a little to far probably .

My story is: Some years ago , I was looking for "How to make your own game" on Youtube, (I wanted soo much to create my own game because one friend of mine made a 2D game in Java).I found some videos about GameMaker. I started using GameMaker 2D , it was so complicated for me and I looked for other software.Again ,looked for these videos then I found ClickTeam Fusion .I played with the tutorial project , I was too lazy to create a other project. I had fun with it some months , until i wanted to create a 3D game. First time if found GameMaker 3D (lol , i din't tried it). Looked more far away and i found 3D Rad.I saw 1/2 of the video then acess 3DRad.com then I downloaded it.It was not working with my old* computer.I found a older version with the same way as Famer . I wasn't that expereanced... My first project was a police chase xD , and i didn't used any script.They were far too complicated (I know i was a n00b in programing) . I looked the old forums , I didn't had a account , just reading random posts... It's was been a while ,until the original 3D Rad forum got "disabled"(i mean , that time when you can't post anymore).Then I made a account on 3DFoundry. I upgraded 3D Rad from 6.39 to 6.5 .I had LOT of fun with it. At some moment I started writing my first script xD : void Main() { iEscKeyDisable(); }
Then I started using simple scripts using "if (a >= b)"... I posted "DriftTime" game on 3DFoundry , and I worked on a failed Gta project. 3DFoundry got down , so I made this forum. Then i made mode kind of modification for 3D Rad (3D Rad v6.51,then v 6.52 ) and I given up on them. I made Power Supersport admin , and y'know that time. I started making 3DRadSpace (I'm still working on it) , making the physics engine confuses me. And that's my entire story on using 3D Rad (sorry for long post ).

For me it was around 2008-2009 when I decided to get into game dev a little. At this time, I had tried gamemaker a bit but because GM needs to be scripted out mostly, I'd written it off as 'too complicated'. However, I then tried 3D game dev as well, trying various engines until I found 3D Rad on google. Once I tried it, I knew it was the right engine for me. Didn't sign up for a forum account until mid-way through 2010 but I'd already made several games before then (like the mad highway one)

My story is about 3-4 years ago me and my friend were talking (usual kid talks) and he said "Let's make some games! We'll be popular. " I said yeah OK. and next day I didn't care about what he said 8_) and he came and said He has found a easy game development engine you guessed it but you are wrong (Multimedia Fusion 2) . It was simple and easy to learn from there I figured out how games work and basic GUI programming then I thought why just 2D let's try 3D so, I tried unity. I didn't get anything and I didn't have Internet back then . So, after we got internet connection. I searched and found 3D Rad. downloaded it from 3drad's site downloaded everything from the site that I could. then slowly I got better .

Man . I didnt know you guys were older than me. I thought everyone on this forum is still in highschool.
My introduction to 3D rad , was when I was searching for a free game engine, in 2013 , on google. I downloaded 3d rad , and sandbox . Fell in love with 3d rad , after I successfully imported my first 3d model to 3D rad.
Havent looked back since then. unless I need to check whose following me.......hahahahahaha

Probably happened about 4-5 years ago. I was 9 at that time. I've always been different from other kids. Always curious, with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. I remember, my mum gifted me my very own laptop. At first used to do something that kids are good at. Video games. Used to play my favourite game - NFS Carbon. Then, suddenly, a thought struck. I began to think. How do these people make such games? Can I make them too? Then I searched Google for answers to my questions. That's how I found 3D Rad.
