Hey, guys...
I decided to share my experience over forums into 10 things... But the negative things... The things that can bring hate, rejection, ban etc...
And this isn't only about this forum... It's also about other forums... Doing these things will cause negative opinion directed to you...
These are things that you should NOT do...
1. Violating the rules - violation of the rules is pretty self-speaking... If you violate the rules of a specific forum, you will pretty much get banned at some point... If you don't, you will probably be a black point over the other members
2. Writing blocky posts - Yes - posts that look like a block... that means text, written like you've never heard of return key... You just type and type... And leave the text go down automatically... And you end up with a block that members barely recognize the words and they get lost in the rows...
3. Capitalizing the subject (title) - Even if you have very important matter it's a bad idea to capitalize the whole subject just for attention... Some members can handle it and they don't care, but some of them are just getting pissed off about this... Capitalization looks like that: "SUBJECT"...
4. Using "Help, please", "Please, help" or just "Help" as a subject - This is a terrible idea... The subject is a slot where you need to briefly describe the main matter of your post... Members are more likely to miss this thread if they don't even know what it's all about... Leave your post be talking about do you need help or not...
5. Using curse language - This will talk against you... Do not do it... In some forums it may be allowed, but it only goes wrong in most cases...
6. Answering to a very large post or private message with very insignificant tiny one - I am talking about answering like "K", "OK", "" ... If possible, try to type a little bit more, because you have to give a little bit respect to the member who wrote the entire long post / message...
7. Posting again after posting before seconds - This is something that I hate noticing... If you have to add something, edit your previous post... It's ok if your previous post is hours or days old, but seconds or minutes?...
8. Posting with noticable grammar, spelling, punctuational and typing mistakes - It gives the users impression that it's not worth talking to you, because you're under their level... And because the post looks overall ugly...
9. Posting too large images - makes it too hard to scroll and read... Just too annoying if you ask me... Keep your post well designed and easy to read for best impression...
10. Posting personal problems, problems between you and staff or problems between you and another member publicly - The way to resolve the problems is by private message... Sharing these problems in public may divide the forum, distract the forum, cause a community war and a lot of other problems including putting yourself behind the cages of ban... Avoid this...
Ok... these were the 10 things NOT to do on forums... If you don't do them, you will have much less problems...
I really hope this helped you all and I hope that if you do some of these things you will fix them...
Tell me if you don't agree with anything... And tell me if you want me to make 10 things you should do on forums... Please, let me know...
