Hi everyone!
I'm new here. Sorry for my "not so good english", it is not my native language, but I guess you'll understand me
I am a gamer since I got my first ZX Spectrum in 1982 (yes, I'm old, but not that old ) and a month ago my friend got an idea that it would be nice to have a lan party after some years.
But instead I searched for multiplayer games on one screen. Often I run Amiga emulator WinUAE to play games I liked (still like) as a kid. Skidmarks was one of them, and it supports 4 players on split screen, even more over modem dial LOL, and most important.....best fun factor.
I came across an idea how about remaking Skidmarks, and if there is a 3D game maker easy enough for me to make something. Also I must say I have absolutelly NO knowledge in programming in C++ or C#. I found 3D Rad and it was perfect for simple games but eventually I came across barriers. 3D Rad is no longer supported, no official tutorials, just basic help files within 3D Rad, etc...you all know what I'm talking about.
So after 4 days of searching and learning from tutorials on Youtube, reading every thread here, I manage to make something simple. Video below.
I used SketchUp 2015 for making RigidBody of a car and terrain, and 3DS Max to export them into 3D Rad recognizable files.
I would really need help from you guys and I have a few questions regarding making this game better. I would like to have more racetracks in it, so more project files, and menus.
1. how to keep settings made in main menu (ex. Project 1) through all racetracks ( ex. Project 2, 3, 4, .....)
2. how to make real skidmarks, vissible only when the car skids, like in the game Super sprint on this forum (in my test game skidmarks are present all the time with few seconds liftime)
3. is the script for load/save game only 1 line, as is also shown in a thread on this forum.
For the moment I only have these 3 questions. More will come later when I successfully use these in my project.
I thank you all in advance for the answers.
