Hi Rad people! I was thinking about 3d rad stuff, Like I usually do when I go for my afternoon walk, and i thought, maybe there is a possibility to involve Nvidia in 3d rad again. I dont know what possibilities there are in this idea , but i would very much like to see Nvidia helping out the 3d rad community. I wouldnt mind realtime shadows on animated objects, maybe some raster settings for shadows , a little global illumination , and who knows what else. maybe fracture, or fluid sims I bring this up because any 3ds max user who is using 3ds max 2012 and up knows that there is a viewport setting called Nvidia Iray. www.digitalartsonline.co.uk/news/motion-graphics/nvidia-release-iray-as-physically-based-renderering-plug-in-for-maya-3ds-max/and the default viewport renderer for max ( nitrous renderer) is pretty beautiful to look at. I wouldnt mind being able to simulate or reach these levels of realtime rendering in 3d rad. Is there potential here or am I going past the reach of the stars , and trying to reach a whole new universe? all comments welcome.

i think the last few lines above are spot on kulu, but that rad used nVidia physX does not mean that nV was involved at all with rad, rad simply included it as it is quite open and free to use with credits only required, but more critically, nVidia tech had NILL to do with graphics - only physics, rad uses directX 9 GFX, so you may as well ask microsoft for help, but they will only laugh and say upgrade to dx11..

Nvidia wouldn't put time into something old like 3D Rad. Especially as it isn't updated and will never be updated again. It would be a waste. indiedev is right about the Microsoft thing, their support sucks as it is and I doubt you will get a reply in same week. We have what we have, we should take advantage of it to the max and when we have, switch over to a new Engine and do the same thing

The administration "gods", as indiedev likes to call us, do not ban helpful people... I don't get what's wrong with GH's post and I won't delete anything, nor I would ban anyone... Plus I don't get why do you call him a deserter just because he mentioned another engine... The whole point of game development isn't to use 3D Rad specificly, but to make the game you want, no matter the engine...
