My new project is on the way! Yes, its going to be a Sega Rally Remix like arcade game. Its going to be short (about 10 minutes long) and fun! The game is going to be very simple: Finish 1 lap on a course under the time limit, and be the first on the end of the 4 stages. The game will include: -3 cars (1 playable,1 unlockables and 1 only obtainable with cheat code) -4 tracks (3 normal + bonus stage) -Championship Mode -Practice Mode (maybe...) -Original Sega Rally soundtrack
I will share it probably around June. Yeah i know its too much time for a short game but i just started making games in 3D RAD. Feel free to give me ideas for the game!
And if you want to BOOST the process a bit, then please help me on the forum if you can! Thanks!
Yea... I wouldn't use anthing unoriginal. Even if you read something that says, "The Sega Rally soundtrack is now uncopyrighted and free to use" as it could/most likely is fake. If it isn't on a Sega fourm or website then yea it most definitely is fake.
First map is ready! New content: Custom MAPS! Send me some of the tracks (terrains) you wanna play ingame! Just make your own map and send it to me. Be sure to make a connected racetrack and dont make it to long.(max 2-3 minutes) put down bridges, jumps, walls (they are important) Be sure to create them as TERRAINS in 3D RAD. You can use any program. And ill need a little help about importing terrains.
I dont have Sketchup installed on my computer (performance problems) So the original maps in the first few releases can be...very "ugly"

If you want to import a terrain I suggest to import it as RigidBody and SkinMesh both. I'll be more clear: Import the mesh (even without texture, it has no importance) as a RigidBody and in 3D Rad uncheck "Display Geometry". Then import the mesh, this time with textures, as a SkinMesh. So put them both in the exact same position.
Maybe you already known this way but, I think it's simplier than importing as a terrain.
Hey everyone! Great news! The menu has been fixed, and the very first test version of the game is ready! If you wanna play this test version, then ill post the link for it. If you dont wanna play it, then...ill work on the game untill the alpha/beta release. Need some help with: -Finding car skinmesh (maybe in the 3D Warehouse?) -Finding trees, rocks, building (Yeah, probably in the 3D Warehouse)
AAAAAAND...the cursor is invisible in fullscreen if i use a CamChase (Yeah, the menu has a "harmonic" camchase! (OOPS, spoilers)). So ill need help with that too.
And one more thing: Rad Rally Championship is NOT a Sega Rally Championship 1995 copy. Its a "Fan-Made" remix.
Oh, and if you have some tracks you made, just post it under here!
I got no modelling knowledge at all BUT ITS MARCH 15! Why is this day so special? Well, 169 years ago there was an event in the hungarian history called "Hungarian Revolution". It was a short 2 years long war in Hungary and a lot of people died. Its like Independence Day in America.
Ill release the very first (but still unstable and buggy) version of the game tomorrow. It only has 1 car and track and im working on the better visuals of the car and tracks. I found some better tree and rock addons in this site, so iil use that one instead of that crappy palm tree as every tree. Because i neeed trees and rock with collision detection. The other thing im having trouble are CODES.Actual CHEAT CODES. Like you type in something and something happens...i wont tell any cheat codes.Problems with mouse with fullscreen. 1ST track is still broken. No timer. And it looks like an advanced version of Freeride Sandbox. Im not saying that Freeride Sandbox is a bad project, but its not that special. Early release no.2: April 13-18 (Maybe Early release no.3 sometime) ALPHA and BETA : June-August Full: Gravel Edition: 1-2 months after full release GAMEJOLT EDITION: impossible...im not even thinking about it because there no way i can upload it to Gamejolt. I do have a profile but no one plays Sega Rally these days...
Hi Doomer, I'd like to suggest a small practice we used to follow on the old forum: It'd be great if you could edit your first post with some nice screenshots that represent your game. It's a great way to draw more people into your topic and shows progress that's tangible. Other than that this sounds like a neat little game!
Sooo...ill stop developing the game for now.Yeah...the limits of my PC has been reached...so ill wait untill the summer when i get a new PC. Yaaay!I promise i will release the early release tomorow if i can!
Ummm...what do you mean? Of course i need a new one, because it crashes when im just editing allready made things, like the road or the car or the non-existing scripts, it just crashes! It does that every time. And if i do NOTHING, it just quits after 30 minutes no matter what i do. Im sad cuz i want to work on it but i cant. And the compiler crashes too. So there will be no early releases for sure untill summer (maaaybe but i dont know)
what makes you think a new pc will stop the crashing? does editing/compiling one of rad's demo projects also crash? if not, then maybe your project is overloaded [and not your pc] if rad demos still crash then what CPU/GFX/Windows/ram do you have?
