I am planning to make a multiplayer game. What are the limitations and how is it done? Sorry if I sound like a noob, and thanks in advanced.

Well, to make a multiplayer game that's even a little bit advanced/better than the default NetBallArena you need to know scripting. It's inevitable and required.
As far as limitations go, there are a few. I'd say any more than 6 players and your players will have some decent lag. Heavy graphics will cause lag too and lot's of objects will cause lag. However other than that I can't think of much.
Side Notes: How hard it will be depends on a few thing's such as:
- How many players? - FPS, Racing, what type of game? - How in-depth you want it to be (how far you want to take it) - Is the players data saved on the servers? (Like World of Tanks) - Will there be chat?
As well as a few more. TinSoldier will be able to help more as he's more advanced in making Multiplayer Games I think. When making a Multiplayer game it is way harder than a normal single player game bro, I don't want to throw you off, I'm just letting you know what's in store if you go ahead with it.
Let me know if you need further help either in a PM or on here, I'll do my best to help with scripting and stuff and explain a few thing's in-depth if you wish.
Best of luck pal!

OK, so I am gonna answer the things: It will be a racing game, supporting maximum 4 or 5 online players. Open World game but heavily optimized. Player data won't be stored in server (I would need your advice on that). Great graphics but optimized for performance (In a way I figured out). I am glad that you have offered to help. How do I PM you. Do you use skype or anything like that?

Hello sbdjazz, 3 months ago I made a multiplayer racing game with a maximum of 6 players (4 race cars and 2 cop cars).. But the thing is that it is based on Server-Client module.. TinSoldier once advised me to go through the NetBallArena game provided.. And really it was great! It helped me a lot. The first thing is that to develop a multiplayer racing game you need to use PCar.. As the controls and player number can be easily set up.. PCar is actually made for multiplayers.. There's one thing, you won't be able to make a highly detailed map.. There's no problem in making it but when it comes to load the game.. There you get the pain.. The first level of my game is of about 2-3 kilometers (I guess).. I have made it on my own with lots of details.. But when it loads, it takes about 5-6 minutes(the time GTA 5 takes to load ) to finally play the game.. And the next problem connected to this is that in a racing game(multiplayer), everybody must connect at a time.. So I had to make a function for that such that the player would only be able to move when at least 3 players are connected.. So, I won't recommend you to make a highly detailed map.. Make a simple one(not too detailed, not no detail) and enhance its graphics using effects and all that stuffs.. Because 3D RAD is best for making simple and awesome games.. Not like Need For Speed Rivals..
