I'm interested... And what you mean by hacking the game's files?

You want us to test your "game security"? The save game files? It's cool, but are you sure you wanna spend time on that?

Not just that the entire game but I don't want to spoil the story. btw I've already spent time on that. not the save game files. I mean like indie tech studios's thread

what did you use to protect it then?

If a person really wants to spoil the story, he'll do it anyway... Don't waste too much time trying to prevent that... But people like me don't want to do it...
So, if there is a story involved I'll more likely not test the game... The reasons are obvious...

I mean I'll remove the cut scenes for beta testing. and indiedev I've planned to let the beta testers figure it out it's quite simple

i already figured it out - you removed cutscenes that you likely spent 53mins rendering on your 104deg overclocked pc, as you DID NOT PAY TO PROTECT THEM! hackers like a challenge, and by not protecting it you have infact protected it from hackers by providing no challenge, case solved.

YRN, my suggestion is just to shove the cutscenes at some folder that nobody knows... Just, don't waste time to protect the game from hacking... I've learned that for the time you try to protect the game, you would've done much more for the gameplay...
Hackers will always find a way... They are the most hated, sad and annoying people on planet Earth... But good players will not... Trust me...

so are you saying hackers are even more hated than murderers or paedophiles? white hat hackers are what make your anti-virus software etc, it's a train of thought few have and just needs the right outlet. as for time it only takes a few seconds/minutes to pack an exe with paid encryption.

Hey, heey... Don't go that far... Just saying that I am so hating hackers nowadays... Probably didn't count the other bad category, my mistake... Hackers with bad intentions in mind are irritating and annoying... These that like to promote themselves with your account and your data...

OK guys and indiedev and Power Supersport just give me a one word answer will you beta test my game I'll give you a copy of the security system which is quite basic. you'll understand it all after you get a copy Note: I'll just provide till the menu screen for now. I'm working on shading of the final game and my sister is animating the cut scenes

I agree with you Power Supersport , any type of encrytption can be cracked , even it may take some months.Hidden files can still be found using cmd (command dir (it can show all the files on a directory)).

it's a case of would anyone want to spend the extra time cracking your encrypted game verse making it too easy for everyone to do it in seconds when not encrypted.
YRN: i can't play it as i have other rar zippers installed and don't want winrar, using it in your game could also violate their terms unless you have a license for it? i did however extract the file and watch the cool intro video [since the batch file explains what/where the file is anyway] the 'hidden' exe file is also visible to anyone with hidden files enabled in explorer.
what you did is even less secure than using a free unencrypted packer, and only creates more hassle for end users needing winrar.

Ok, I'm thinking to put a copy of win RAR with my game I mean in my game files so the users won't have to manually install it and putting my hidden files into another archive. and convert the bat file to exe

either way it will be obvious you use winrar to pack which is also very well known to everyone, also it's license is for 1 user/pc unless you plan on buying it for multi-user.
easier to just use a free packer like enigma virtual box i think
