i won't need the upload if you tell me the 1st level name, and the name of the race level but i assume it's 'spacecup train new intro scene.3dr' and 'spacecup race level'? i want to skip to race as i can't get anywhere on foot [and prefer vehicle based games anyway], i keep getting stuck in lift or in corners/walls. does this ever happen to you or others? if so it should be fixed before even considering releasing it. similar thing happened in ace strategy so seems a common character bug in rad, maybe it's the rigidbody sphere? you should add a backwards button too, if not, a reset button would help when stuck with updated checkpoints in the level. Its time we think about maybe a scripted character addon or something, to get over the pitfalls of the built in character object

very impressive floating in space scene, i always wondered what the other levels played like, you are a true artist -just not an AMD friendly one! i tried the race and got a choppy 12-24fps, it seems your artistic vision is beyond what rad/amd can handle, other/newer engines may not struggle so much, then again, rad was designed specifically for artists with less tech know-how, and those with more know-how sometimes have less artistic skills. --------------------------------------- edit: i think i know why your game gets stuck in walls, see here: 3dradboards.org/thread/895/collision-glitches-101edit 2: another simple optimization is to reduce Visibility distance on the camchase, default is 10km! try a few hundred metres, you may get some popup but that's better than low fps.

Thanks Indiedev . If I try any other engine , I will most probably try the autodesk realtime engine, since they say it is node based. but Im pretty happy with 3d rad. I will try reducing the cam view distance, but then I'll probably have to use fog to hide where the camera cuts off . I think I might have gone over the standard poly limit for mid range systems. but another interesting find , is that my gfx card performs better with older drivers , its one of the most irritating things ive found with my gfx card, even my 9500 gt performs way better with WDDM drivers. and I also cant believe they are still making gfx cards with 64 bit memory bus. its easy to find a 4gb vram card , but its difficult to find a 128 bit memory bus card. pisses me off. and apparently AMD is gearing up for a major comeback

That was epic dude! 3D RAD is a great engine. Its only that u have to perform optimizations, a lot to keep the graphics-performance balance.

FRAPSLOG.TXT (6.27 KB) CAGEDPHOTONv13 2017-01-29 21-35-33-71 minma....csv (71 B) Hi guys . I said long time ago , that I would upload my Fraps results. well , here you go. Thanks to Indiedev for being so grounded. we need people like you to help the rest of us dreamers from flying into space, without a spacesuit. I honestly was never going to do any beta's for either hungry overlord or caged photon, but thanks for yall guys input . I wouldnt not have been aware of the deep optimisation issues my works have. laters yo.

while i likely wouldn't have made the same mistakes as you [as i'm very meticulous] you helped me reinforce what not to do by example, and made me think about possible fixes if i ever need them, so thanks for that kulu..

Nice one! I think enabling shadows and disabling bloom might improve performance more. My games terribly lag when bloom is enabled.

Hi guys . I just want to get yall guys feedback on this mini-game im going to add to Caged Photon. Im trying to vary the gameplay as much as I can without destroying the main purpose of Caged Photon. Its a 18mb download , that unzips to 50mb . it should run decently ( I think ) . Ive tested it on an entry level AMD pc as well . This is a mini-game that will feature in one of the levels of Caged Photon , probably in the OrbitCity level . www.mediafire.com/file/6dbw3z5kllkdawh/SPACECUPMINIGAMEv003_20170221143134.rar'd' to shoot 'c' to change camera views

norton says: Malicious website blocked! likely false as most files are ok, a few bad ones must have flagged it.

interestingly, i can still d/l kulus other mediafire downloads, just not this one, so mediafire itself is not blocked, just this latest download, i suggest kulu or anyone else tests the file with www.virustotal.com/if it gets alot of hits there it may have been infected by a virus on kulus pc or any other pc's the file came in contact with during testing, [unless mediafire server somehow infected it] if it gets no hits then norton just false positived it.

Use Kaspersky or any other decent ant-virus program to scan the game as well as your 3d rad folder.
