The problem is this - { grab a coffee or soda, this is going to be a long RANT sort of ).
The planet earth is run by mother nature's design, that is a closed system based on recycling.
We have been coerced into a consumer based society ( called consumerism ) where we buy stuff, use it till it wears out, maybe fix it once or twice, then throw it away and buy more stuff.
And of course, work harder and longer hours to make more money to buy more stuff, even stuff we don't really need for day to day living, just because it's newer, and shiny, and everyone else wants or has bought one already.
Add to this, manufactures produce products intentionally with a specific life span, in most case's, products barely last the for warranty period before showing signs of age and wear.
Imagine this, if you bought a brand new laptop for $1,500.00, and it was guaranteed to last your entire life time, no breakdowns, no repairs required EVER, that would be a pretty sweet deal right ??.
What happens when new designs come out and with 100 times faster processors and more memory, double or triple the expansion ports ??
I guess you could always upgrade the laptop.. right ??..
Well hold on there, wouldn't upgrading be just like replacing the whole laptop with a brand new one, the difference is, upgrading would be a piece at a time, till you end up with a whole new machine at some point anyway...
There's a problem here...
Our planet has a finite amount of space, and room to grow produce, to feed the population of the world.
Only so much resource's available, only so much space for people on the planet.
There has to be a balance of everything, it has to be based on recycling everything, and even required by law with severe penalty's for law breakers.
This is mother natures design for the whole planet, we can't break these rules yet, till science and or evolution allow it, or we move off this planet...
The environment and the economy, peoples health, are all showing signs of problems..
New throw away products come on the market daily, for more money with lower quality, with shorter life spans...some with longer life spans, but not to much longer, don't forget, people wont make more money if they don't raise the prices and sell more products, it's a continuous rising price scale, referred to as inflation ...
We need money to survive in the worlds current economy...
Where will it end,,, can it ever end ??
Whats the solution ??
Is there a solution to keep everyone happy, well fed, supplied with the latest technology, in as perfect health as possible, all without ruining the planet ??
Big changes are needed to solve all these problems, and we're not being brought up and taught properly to deal with it.
Schools don't teach kids to think enough, they mostly teach kids to remember facts that have be hand picked as "important" to know ( and that's highly debatable ! ). ( when was the last time you needed to use facts from the year 1800 history lessons, to deal with daily living ??, or when do you think that mite happen ??, if ever... )
RANT OVER .. for now, and i probably didn't cover everything i should have, or in the proper order, i probably made mistakes too...
PS, ever hear of the light bulb conspiracy, it pretty much describes the basic issue of consumerism that we all believe in and live every day of our lives, and even taught in school, and seen on TV daily in commercials.
Give it a look see sometime,
