I don't think so :/ , Sketchup has several problems exporting shadows and rendering issues in 3D rad, also it hasn't UV mapper or normal mapper.. After some years of experience with 3Drad and Sketchup, now I want my models to look more professional when exported. BTW did you made textures with Inkscape? just asking

3drad shadow mesh just should be a single sided mesh and mainly must be properly closed plygonal surface. So the problems could cause other modellers aswell, it rather all depends on the mesh creation approach. 3rad shadow can be a single box or a very simplified shape comparing to the skinmesh "original". My shadows are sometimes a simple square flat skinmesh with a detailed silhouette texture paint. yes, Inkscape is the thing

almost forgot to mention the bomber showroom / paint kit tool version... its a (very) lowpoly model designed to be AI airplane target used in large formations for the Komet combat simulation here is a non-3drad screenshot taken from the MS Combqat Flight Simulator 3 game:

oh, thank you relating to the paint kit / showroom project I just cant stop to "recycle" the original hangar scene idea, based on the 3drad Komet Fighter game it just helps me when making new skins for my models well, it could all transform into any 3drad arcade shooter project, but all the invested time worths much better as a game add-on / game modding project, I suppose. it also usually addresses much more people (thousands / then-thousands... I am not kidding).
