Hi everyone, it has been a long time since I have said something on this forum. I just wanted to inform you that I have stopped the development of my F1 game, hence it the fact of the time it consumes to get somewhere. I have not realised all the components a game is made of, and I only now know why they make such games with a team of about 300 people. I have set out on this project blind, not knowing what Is going to be needed to make a game. It is a sad and disappointing moment but I can not go forth.
I have done my homework and have decided to embark on a new journey with a builder game (Largely known as games like Clash of Clans or Sky Raiders). The amount of components needed to make such a game is far more but less complex and time consuming. The game will be totally different to games found on the Play Store or PC. I will make an entire GDD (Game Design Document) and it will contain everything that goes into making a builder game or at least the thing I am making. The code will not be open source but the GDD will be released as it is being done. I will put up a site and update the status here as new content is released.
DellyArts I have not yet made screenshots of the other tacks I have modelled.
@gamedeveloper0 && Power Supersport The only pictures I have of things I have used in UNITY is a F1 car on a showroom floor stand. A attachment is below of the 2 pics. I can upload that COD shipment map in about a months time.
There will be a attachment of some code for the F1 game in unity. This is the main part(you can almost say core) of my car physics. The are about 5 other scripts but this is the main one. I have tried to remove all the functions that call variables from other scripts and have put them in this script. If there is a variable missing let me know. The steering is halfway done, but I have put a little piece of code at the bottom without all the physics and angle stuff. This part is quite hard to script. I have not tested the code as one script but it should work. Create a game object and a child object, then put 4 wheel colliders into the child object and make a cube for the body. The child object of the colliders must have a rigidbody component to it as well as the car's body. WheelController.cs (19.09 KB)
Hey Andre happy to see you again, if I was you I won't go to make a game like clash of clans...
actually according to game deaigners and companies RTS(real time strategy) games take the most time to make and racing games take the least...
Second, your f1 car looks awesome, I see no reason to not make a f1 racing game with skills like those, unity is tough I know but it's not impossible to understand, I am right now reading a unity 3d book because it made all the unity basics clear,
All I am trying to say is that how hard can it be, for me I want my first game to be like its my last...
All you did wrong was that you didn't planned, its never too late, make a chart and list all the things you need to do (you can do and you can learn to do) paste it on the wall and boom! Do it step by step...
Rest is your decision if you wanna make a rts game go on I won't stop you but remember don't make permanent decisions on temporary feelings....
Looking forward to your creations, and once again your showroom looks great.
Firstly regarding the pics of the showroom. It is actually still a white model in sketchup and I have just slapped on some textures.
The game was actually inspired by the asset I was making: The Showroom. The game would actually take place inside a large showroom with workshops, testing facilities, a large F1 track out back and and lots more. You would have to manage the shop and setup cars...stuff like that. The builder game is just a some term I used to get the closest tipe of gameplay like you get in COC. The layout is not the same, but the managing of stuff and upgrading things will be like that. You will have to expand what you got(the whole facility itself). There will still be a part where you have cars driving and stuff like that. But the game will not be a racing game, it would be more like build a car and test it on the track. And things like that.
I have had mixed feelings for a long time now, so it's nothing new. Making a game like this will incorporate all my previous work but on a smaller scale. All previous recourses I used, will be used again.
This game will also be the first of its kind( well at least what I know of). Something fresh and new.
ps: sorry for the spelling errors and wrongly typed sentences, am currently working on a phone.
Thank you for the response and I appreciate it alot
