Hi, I'm new here.
I'm certainly not new at 3D Rad though.
So, anyways, I'm trying to do two things: I want to be able to attach rigid-bodies to a vehicle, without any collision, and I want them to be able to fall off when triggered, in specific areas. Also, I want a car to take a certain amount of force in order to take damage, also in specific areas.I'll add the project and object files if you really need them, so please tell me if you do need the project. Since it's a pain to get the files together, I will only do it if I have to. If you do get the project file, please don't just do it for me and give it back, because I want to learn how to do it myself

1.)For the car-rigidbody link use "Joint". 2.)You are talking about soft-body damage or about a health variable?

Well, I wanted it to be that if you hit the car hard enough (or the car hits something hard enough) the joints will fall off, along with the part.

Using a script will do the job... Logic is to get contact force and trigger the deattach... //OBJ_0 - Car //OBJ_22 - EventOnContact //OBJ_44 - Joint float force = 50000; required force for deattach void Main() { if (IN_22 > force) iObjectStop(OBJ_44); } You just link the car and the terrain to EOC (EventOnContact) and then set them as "MONITOR" Link the car to the script first, then link the EOC and the joint last... Hope this helps...

I can't get the joints to keep the bumper on straight. What type of joint should I use?

"Fixed fast"

No matter what I set the force, it seems that when I hit the object my bumper flies off then reattaches itself again.

By the way, do you have some knowledge of scripting?

Okay so I couldn't get it to work, and no, I don't.
I'm gonna send the project file, on another post (It wont let me attach it to a reply)

It won't let me attach it at all because it's over 1MB.

You must upload it to additional host (dropbox for example) and link it here, because we use free forum service and we have limit up to 1MB per attachment...

Ignore the other problems with it, as I'll fix those later. For now, what I'm trying to do is make the front bumper fall off if it hits the rock/rigidbody
