Hello, 3d rad users. Some of u may remember me.....
3D rad was my 1st game engine. I used to use it a lot. and dreamed to make awesome games with it. Well i may have created many prototypes with this engine(mostly not shown it anywhere), but i never finished any of them.
Now i use Unity for making games. I wish i could give something back to 3d rad community for helping me this much.
So, last week i decided to finish a prototype on a very small scale, and publish it.
So, Here is the result.
So, this the last game i am ever gonna make with 3d rad.
This game is a split screen action game. Where each player tries to push other player out of the platform.
watch the gameplay from here:
I used default buggy car, because matching a custom model with 3d rads default cars can be a painfull process. Players can choose different car skin from a list though. Car skins just same different skinmesh with same buggy car model, but edited textures. All the shaders are shadmars shaders. I also used the racetimer add on for the timer view. each player can shoot a metal ball. The tires in the corner are also buggy tires. The spark particle is a custom particle which i made with gimp. The fence and the platform model is created and textured in blender. The main menu is mostly created using blender(except the buggy tires of course). The game does not use any post process effect(it slows the game very much, and they dont look very good). I have avoided using textprint or value print, as they uses more resources. There are tons of sprites used both in game and menu. Did u notice the soft border in the game? thats also a sprite.
As for the timer in the middle, i used another camera. Gave it a sprite background. and linked it with the text print so that the number only shows in that camera.
Oh, i forgot to give the download link...
Download form itch.io
Download from gamejolt
The recording is not in very good quality. I recommend to download and play the game to experience it 1st hand. The download size it small (35mb) and it only takes 2-3 sec to load. Also it runs smoothly at 60 fps at 1080p(AA off) in my potato pc(4th gen core i3,8gb ram, intel hd 4400). [Please note that windows defender gives a virus warning for all 3drad exe files. You can safely ignore it.]
Oky ppl. Thanks alot for all ur support. Its been a blast working with 3d rad.
I can now say good bye to 3d rad and 3d rad community. I Will miss u..
