yeah... i'm re-learning Unity as well... when time permits... definitely has a lot going for it... meanwhile... two Rad road race projects you might wanna take a look at... just to see how they approached getting the level of graphics that they achieved in RAD...

the only problem with 3d rad is that it was abandoned because of which it does not supports other platforms(not updated) and graphically it looks bad than unity or unreal, but let me tell you how i came across 3d rad its a long story but i will tell it in short,
one day i was playing around the internet looking for games,i came across a website link of unity3d.com somehow i clicked it, i understood what it was all about and i downloaded it because it looked interesting and i had an interest in games, opened it saw it once and twice and uninstalled it,(it looked really tough) still i had interest in it so i looked on the web for best free game engines, and then i saw a list of 20(unity was there and 3d rad looked amazing to me so i downloaded it installed it and made a working car demo by following the steps on the website,,, i fell in love with 3d rad and i joined the forum and i think i am still sticking with it,(so whats the point), 3d rad is for beginners to show you the basics of game design and if you are good with it you can take it to a professional level, for me 3d rad has played a huge role if i hadn't used 3d rad i might have left game designing, just because of 3d rad i know many basic things , like modeling is one but someday you may need to go a little advance,
but here is a wise thing that i learned, that the game engine doesn't matter----------------the content matters, you may not earn a single penny by using unity 3d or you can make super meat boy using flash and become a millionaire, well that's what i think

These scenes look great! I think that 3D Rad is a challenge... I mean you can try to maximize and achieve maximum graphic and gameplay quality similar to that to Unity or Unreal... It's a challenge, isn't it? So the reasons why I don't abandon 3D Rad are: - downloaded Unity one time and it crashed on my PC; - 3D Rad is so simple, but it can do much more... - learning another engine may take more time than learning 3D Rad... - 3D Rad has a power in itself, but you must be powerful too and patient to discover it... /still finding awesome stuff in scripting... / These are my opinions... I don't tell you to dismiss other engines...

I fully agree, id it wasn't for the graphics I would have stayed with 3D RAD. It's so unfortunate.

yes, i mean, success isn't always from the material/tools, it's about your creativity.
BTW, we need a portfolio, a complete product at least 1. to prove to the world that 3drad is still alive, surviving for years. we need to work together.

good graphic can be achieved by many ways, ENBs, fake DOF, lensFlare, DirtyLens, they're a treasure in the old forum.

There are always tricks for achieving good quality in 3D Rad... I think that we can't because we can't make shaders for it... simply because it's hard to learn and there are no tutorials for HLSL (If I'm wrong, please post a topic with tutorials for HLSL shading language... Would be helpful for all of us... )

I have seen I think one tutorial and there are only 4 shaders available to download in the internet. In able to shading you would have to have alot of time.

One of the reasons why I hated Unity at the first time...
But now I have better computer and Unity runs pretty good... But I don't use it at all... for now...

You need at least a proper i7 pc to run UNREAL smoothly. When you compare UNREAL to UNITY, UNITY would be easier to learn.
When going to UNITY, you feel like this is a piece of software that can't even be a "game engine". But once you learn it it would feel as natural as using Rad.
