Giving up 3D RAD for UNREAL ENGINE? (mainly over graphics)

Hi guys and gal. After I have finished texturing my track and spending 2 days dividing and breaking the track up to export all the individual pieces to 3D RAD. I finally got a chance to setup the track within 3D RAD, everything fitted neatly and a car was setup and ready to go. Performance was a bit low but I have not implemented my code for improving fps. So I was quite pleased with the model I have designed and the track setup, the track has extremely realistic textures and would easily hold up with commercial graphics (it's actually that good). When I saw that the graphics in the 3D RAD engine, my heart broke. The track just didn't look good. When you drive you can see those cubic edges at the edge of the model where the sky "touches" the hill. The graphics looked fake and trying every single shader that is out there it still didn't deliver(it almost didn't deliver at all). With my previous models I knew that the model had some "not so great" textures so I kept on with 3D RAD knowing I can fix it with some photo realistic textures. I can fully understand if my models(the track) where badly textured or modelled that it would look like it did. I knew I were never going to be satisfied with the visuals of the game and made a long and challenging decision, retire from 3D RAD to use UNREAL. Trust me making this decision wasn't a ball in the park, and if there was any other way I would take it. Don't get me wrong, 3D RAD has great graphics and would easily meet my requirements, but it only looks good in FPS games or enviourments that is small, not a 2 by 2 square kilometre track that is open. I would like to know by you guys(and gal) if I am making a bad choice or going ahead to a engine that can reveal great potential for the game. I know what I am up against and it would not be easy. Can I please have your opinion on which engine is better for making a racing game (I have done my research and unreal looks better, but it doesn't mean it is better), UNREAL or CRYENGINGE especially when it comes to physics. UNREAL looks to have better physics. I am not bothered on the fact that I have to spend some money using CRYENGINE. I f anyone have some experience on these engines could you tell me if that specific engine you used is good enough(more on which one is easier to use).

PS: I have smoothed all my objects and the track itself and I tried creating dome over the track to see if it made any difference, but I didn't
