Hey, guys, I have been interested for so long about Geometry dash...
I like trying to recreate games in order to make them better or by my taste...
Here is geometry dash 3D! Really early release... just to show you what I am working on...

Wow, it looks very good and it was very fast. I see that the box did nothing when it collided on the side of the platform. What are you currently working on.

I still didn't implement the collision detection system because I want first to make the level-editing code... The logic is pretty easy so it will not be so hard to make this... But once I complete the level editing code, I'm gonna start making the basics of the game... like crashing in spikes, blocks etc... also rocket, saucer, ball are not hard to make... but I really want to have first a level to experiment in order to make the other things... That's why I want to make the level editor first... The first line is the object total amount... The next lines represent the separate objects: Let me just pick up an example to show you the values... 034,002,000,001,00003 034 | 002 | 000 | 001 | 00003 | X-position | Y-position | Orientation | Type of block | ID |
Type of the block indicates what type of block to be placed... for example 000 is block, 001 is spike etc... ID is the imposter ID which can be usefull later...

I like the idea. And when you say level editing, do you mean the player can edit the course or objects for you to use (like prefabs)

So if I understand your .txt and the way you'll use it. So you are going to amke a file for each level with coordinates and object type and just read them when the game starts and the script will handle the rest, like placing the objects and assigning properties for each type of block.

That's right!
By level editor I mean that for default levels I'm gonna use it to generate the txt with all these bunch of values instead of typing them...
Then, it will be addon function for the player to make his own levels (Not to edit the default)...

I also pretty much want 3D rad to be a multiplatform engine, but... let me complete with the project...
Maybe someone could make it in Unity and export it for android... who knows... I am ready to give him all the source codes, scripts, textures, models etc. to make this...

Scripts won't work in unity, and so are other elements like event on location and much more

But I think that when we have the script logics, we can transform the script somehow...

This would be easy in unity, instead of moving the player, move the platform. This way you only have to make the character jump and detect collision.

Haha... I tried moving the whole platform, but the platform is still made of imposters... and all the objects are made by imposters and that's a little bit hard to make the objects moving, not the player...

Power and Gamedev (if you want to) we can do this next week and Thursday. Once all the graphics is set out, the rest would be easy. I am not sure about menus, but the programming aspects of it doesn't look to complicated.

I would figure so. But UNITY won't suffer such a big fps loss, but if you want to do it like in RAD, you can make the objects(cubes) child objects of the platform and just move the platform and create the cubes like you did in RAD, with .txt file.
